So, President Obama visited Los Angeles this week and people seem to be in an uproar because of the traffic issues caused by his motorcade.

Now, I understand hating traffic. And anything that makes it worse is truly annoying. But really, what’s with all the backlash at the President for visiting?

You should be honored when the President visits your town, whether you like him or not. I would bet that all the bad press regarding the traffic has less to do with the traffic than it has to do with people wanting to bad mouth the President. You’re entitled to your opinion, but let’s call it what it is and not hide our dissatisfaction under the guise of complaining about the traffic he caused. Ok?

And if you truly are enraged about the traffic, there are plenty of other issues that should concern you. Here are a few:

Tonight, among other topics, the Burbank City Council will discuss the 2008-2009 Homeless Winter Shelter Program.

Last year the city of Burbank agreed to host the shelter at its Armory because the city of Glendale, who had previously hosted the shelter, was renovating their Armory. This year, the city of Glendale has revealed that they are not interested in reopening their Armory for use by the Winter Shelter Program placing the load again on Burbank.

Living really close to the armory, I received a letter from the city notifying me of tonight’s meeting. And, last night, while working on my car, I was approached by a neighbor who was passing out material in opposition to the proposed shelter.

Judging from the literature I received, I think there is some misinformation about this shelter floating around. I encourage you, if you’re concerned, to read the Staff Report and its supporting documents. If that doesn’t satisfy you, attend tonight’s meeting at 6 PM at Burbank City Hall.

Since I recently moved, and the DMV can’t ever seem to change my voter registration even though I checked the box on my change of address form, I re-registered the other day through Rock The Vote.

I waited until now to register because I am still undecided on how to cast my vote. I’m one of those people who refuses to associate themselves with a political party because they think it’s ridiculous to think that anyone is always going to agree with a particular party’s candidate. I had even considered not voting because I am less than thrilled with both of the main candidates, which really is probably just a cop-out on my part. However, after some soul searching I came to the conclusion that voting was something I needed to do.

So now I’m searching. I’m trying to decide how to cast my vote. If you have any info you want to pass along to help me make my decision it would be much appreciated.

I normally try to stay out of politics, and rarely will I share my political opinion with anyone, including my wife, but I had to say something about this. I received the email below this morning. It is alarmist, slanderous and obviously written to taint the public opinion on Obama. This email represents exactly what I hate about politics. It is never about people’s views and always about making the other guy look bad.

Furthermore, it is ridiculous that we label the entirety of one religion as terrorists. For being a country that is “tolerant” of so many different things, we sure are an intolerant people when it comes to Muslims. There are millions of them in the world and we are judging all of them by the actions and reactions of a few. I know several people, including myself, who hate it when “Christians” are all dumped into one group and spoken of unflatteringly. How is this any different? We’ve had so many corrupt “Christian” politicians maybe we could use a Muslim one. I highly doubt he would be able to destroy the US from his presidential seat, if he were to try anyway.

So, what I’m trying to say is, who cares. Who cares that he has a Muslim background? Who cares if he was raised Catholic? Who cares if he attends the United Church of Christ? What matters is, what he stands for and that he stands firm on his words. That’s what I care about.

I don’t know who I’ll vote for in the next Presidential election, or even if I’ll vote, but I despise these types of messages. Oh, election time, how I hate thee.

Who is Barack Obama

Democratic primary presidential candidate, Barack Hussein Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, to Barack Hussein Obama, Sr., a black Muslim from Nyangoma-Kogel, Kenya and Ann Dunham, a white atheist from Wichita, Kansas.

Obama’s parents met at the University of Hawaii.

When Obama was two years old, his parents divorced. His father Returned to Kenya.

His mother then married Lolo Soetoro, a radical Muslim From Indonesia.

When Obama was 6 years old, the family relocated to Indonesia.

Obama attended a Muslim school in Jakarta.

He also spent two years in a Catholic school.

Obama takes great care to conceal the fact that he is a Muslim.

He Is quick to point out that, “He was once a Muslim, but that he also attended Catholic school.”

Obama’s political handlers are attempting to make it appear that Obama’s introduction to Islam came via his father, and that this influence was temporary at best.

In reality, the senior Obama returned to Kenya Soon after the divorce, and never again had any direct influence over His son’s education.

Lolo Soetoro, the second husband of Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, introduced his stepson to Islam.

Obama was enrolled in a Wahabi school in Jakarta. Wahabism is the radical teaching that is followed by the Muslim terrorists who are now waging Jihad against the western world.

Since it is politically expedient to be a Christian when seeking Major public office in the United States, Barack Hussein Obama has joined the United Church of Christ in an attempt to downplay his Muslim background.
