Brightkite: A Cool Social Network You’ve Never Heard Of
Do you have a social networking site that you really enjoy but don’t spend much time on because your friends are on the more trendy sites? I do. I really like Brightkite, a location based social network. I don’t use it often because I don’t have any friends. L While the social network is designed for you to meet people in your area, it doesn’t really sit that well with me to be meeting up with complete strangers because we both like to use Brightkite. I don’t think my wife would appreciate that either. However, I think it would be really cool to share that information with my friends.
Anyway, part of the reason I like Brightkite is because it has an awesome app for my Android phone. I hear the iPhone app is pretty cool as well. The app is really easy to use, and I can use it anywhere to send updates about the cool restaurant I’m visiting, or whatever. It works a lot like Twitter, and you can actually set it to send your updates to Twitter, if you’re so inclined. I do, because I’m also a Twitaholic, but if there were a way to just use Brightkite and still have all of my Twitter friends I’d make the switch.
Well, I probably haven’t done Brightkite any justice in what I’ve just written, but the key thing I wanted you to know is that there are other social networking sites out there that are really cool. Try them out.
