I kinda like the new rock like Fall Out Boy or All-American Rejects. And the Goo Goo Dolls, Chili Peppers and Foo Fighters are still making good stuff.

As far as church goes, here we always start with a newish song to bring everyone in, then eventually people get used to it and no one complains when it makes its way into the main part of the service. Of course, it helps to have a praise team when singing new songs, otherwise its a solo.

Don't think it happens to everybody, seeing as how my mom will listen and even sing to Amy's rap with her, and there are tons of old people that go to our church and sing new songs almost every week (along with at least one hymn, of course!). Seems to me the key is to never reach a point where you think you know everything worth knowing. I think some older people get set in their ways and don't want to learn or experience anything new anymore - it doesn't just apply to music.
